TERMS AND CONDITIONS
9 and 3 Driving School will supply a dual controlled (gas and brake) vehicle, a licensed driver instructor and insurance for the lesson. The instructor may refuse to allow the student to drive if he/she shows signs of any impairment or actions which could pose a hazard to the student or instructor. 9 and 3 Driving School DOES NOT guarantee of the issuance of a Driver’s license to the student.
NOTE:
- Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours prior to start of classroom instruction. You must call the office to request the cancellation.
- It is your responsibility to set up the schedule with the driving instructor. Once the schedule is set it is your responsibility to contact the instructor regarding the need to cancel or change the appointment. Instructors have the right to charge a $65.00 fee if a student fails to cancel the appointment 24 hours in advance. This also means if it is a two hour lesson they owe $130.00. This fee must be paid before the student can resume instruction.
TRAFFIC SAFETY EDUCATION POLICEIES
- Students must successfully complete 20 hours of classroom instruction 10 hours of homework and 10 hours of in car instruction.
- Tuition and fees must be paid in full, before continuing with in car lessons.
- Classroom work must receive a 70% score to pass.
- Students have up to one year to complete their Driver’s education course.
- A student can be removed from the class for behavior problems, cheating, graffiti, defacing class, coming to class intoxicated or drug induced condition without refund.
- Use of tobacco products are prohibited within 100ft of the 9 and 3 Driving School classroom.
- Any equipment that distracts a student from the instructor’s presentation will be removed for the class period.
- No refunds or transfers will be given after 3 months of starting the program.
CLASSROOM ATTENDANCE AND MAKE UP
- You must complete 20 hours of in classroom driver education and 10 hours of homework.
- All absences must be made up within 60 days.
- To make up your missed class time, you must attend the same session as the day you missed (for example, if you were absent on the third day of your class, come to the third day of another class).
STUDENT BEHAVIOUR
- School rules are always in effect
- Students violating rules regarding use of drugs, alcohol, or tobacco will be suspended for the remainder of the course.
- Chronic or major misbehavior will result in suspension or expulsion without refund.
- No use of cell phones or other devices allowed during class time and in car lessons.
- Safe driving requires good judgement, discipline and self-control. We expect that from you in class as well.
- If a student is disruptive in class, they will receive a verbal warning for the first offence. If the student continues to be disruptive, a phone all will be made to a parent or guardian, student may re-enter class only after a parent/teacher conversation has taken place. If the disruptive behaviour continues they will be asked to leave the course with no refund.
DRIVING REQUIREMENTS
- Drive lessons must be cancelled with at least 24 hour notice to avoid the $65.00 cancellation fee.
- Students are expected to wait at the meeting location for at least 10 minutes after the scheduled start time.
- Students that arrive for a drive session in an intoxicated or dug induced condition will not drive and may be dropped from the course without tuition refund. The use of tobacco products is not allowed while driving or riding as a passenger in the driving instruction vehicle.
- Student’s cell phones will be placed in the center console during the entire driving lesson.
- Please plan on the student spending 1 -2 hours in the car for every lesson. The pickup and drop off spot will be arranged with the driving instructor.
- Upon entering the vehicle, the student is required to produce their permit and sign in.
- We reserve the right to cancel or end any or all scheduled lessons due to the student’s inability to follow directions. If this should happen, lessons may be rescheduled after a conference with a parent.
- Since the requirement for driving lessons is 10 hours behind the wheel, we prefer the student start scheduling lessons soon after completing the classroom portion. We require the student drive on the road with a parent for a minimum of 5 hours before the first lesson. It is expected the parent will practice the road test skills learned with the driving instructor.
